replaced my old Fujitsu Seimns laptop which walked down the steps, with a new Lenovo duo core notebook see below

I have to say that so far I am very happy with this machine, I have a question that the manual has not answered, so I am hoping that someone here can.

I have a few home movies that I like to show to the rest of the family, so I connected the notebook up to my Sony Bravia lcd tv with a VGA lead. The video plays no problem, however the audio comes from the notebook which is not the best by any standard. I have to run a audio lead from the headphone socket on my laptop to my hifi in order to get good audio. I dont know what I am doing wrong, surely it cant be, I had no problems like this with my old laptop.

    Has anyone any suggestions please?
