please quickly!
i'm getting tablet x61, i'm lost and dunno which to choose. normally i want faster processor and hdd, more ram, and higher resolution display (as I'll be viewing, reading and writing documents all time). local shop has the following:
now i'm lost between those:
ONE:
Intel Core 2 Duo L7700 LV (1.8GH
Vista Home Premium 32
2 x 1 GB RAM
100 GB 7200rpm
ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wi-Fi
TWO: (at same price)
Intel Core 2 Duo L7700 LV (1.8GHz
Vista Business
12.1" MultiView + MultiTouch WVA XGA TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna
2 GB RAM
160 GB 7200rpm
Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
THREE: ($50 more)
Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 LV (1.6GHz
Vista Business 64
12.1" SuperView WVA SXGA+ TFT, 2x3 UltraConnect II antenna
2 x 2 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory
160 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
all other specs are the same. i'm leaning towards the third one as it has more ram and high resolution display but it has less clockspeed. if its much slower than the 1.8 (i'm currently using 1.8 macbook) then i'm hesitating again about the ONE screen and TWO screen. >_<
help me!

When I had the AMD Turion X2 TL-52 @ 1.6 GHz it was plenty quick. I never had any problems with it's speed, but those are Ultra-Low-Voltage processors so I'd probably pick #2 and buy some RAM from Newegg.com.
I'll try to find some benchmarks comparing the performance between the two... -
I'm having a hard time finding anything. Sorry.... The SXGA might be nice, if you can deal with waiting a couple seconds longer one some apps and bootup time
-
and are there 'new' and 'old' models? because the higher resolution display is not listed on the configrator page. -
-
I don't know much about low voltage CPUs, but I doubt that 200MHz will make a noticeable difference--unless your doing video encoding or some other CPU intense task, which if you are a LV CPU is probably not for you anyway.
-
Either processor will be fine. The only major difference is the screen.
You need to decide what you prefer. A high resolution screen for multi-tasking, photo editing, and general clarity (option 3). Or, the convenience of being able to use your finger to control the screen without using a pen (option 2). Unless you are in a specific field (e.g. Healthcare) where you need a finger input, I would lean toward more resolution every time. -
I agree with jonlumpkin. The processor clock speed is not really of much concern. If you are doing any highly cpu intensive tasks that you need to save a couple seconds...why are you using a tablet for it in the first place
. The resolution would be worth the $50.
-
i'd go for #3.
$50 for higher res and 2gb of ram is good -
i guess option three it is.
why i want tablet pc?
i'm at the University doing two degrees and I never found my self depending on online resources as much as now. I guess its time to leave the papers and switch to electronic notepad =p -
.
need help making my mind ASAP
