Hi,
I have a lenovo thinkpad r60 with a winxp working OS and I cannot install by non-comprehended reasons the wireless on my pc.
I've been following the steps posted on the lenovo webpage in order to install the wireless driver/adapter for it. I have solved the dependencies. The background of this situation is that Device Manager notifies problems about an inexistent driver of the network controller.
Does anyone know a solution to this?
Thanks a lot.

I've got the same problem on my computer. Have even reinstalled XP from scratch but to no avail. Windows finds new hardware and prompts to install software for the "network controller" but a search yields nothing.
I don't even know what the "network controller" is supposed to be, but it has stopped me from connecting to any wireless networks as I did previously for the internet. The only way to connect now is to plug the cable modem into the router directly.
Can anyone help? -

I had this exact problem a few weeks ago when I picked up a new T42. I did a fresh XP install.
1. I did not have a wireless card installed so all that showed up in the device mgr was "network controller".
2. Once I dropped in a IBM Intel Pro 2915 abg card I still only had the "network controller" displayed.
3. Finally after much hair pulling I went to the download page on Lenovo site and downloaded the drivers for this card. Once dled I opened and installed the drivers and "BAM" the wireless card appeared in the device mgr and worked.....
Now I make these 3 steps sound so simple but it took me 3 days to get help to do this.
I'd have to go to thinkpadforum site to get the specific steps I followed but if this doesn't help, let me know and I will recreate...Good luck cause I know I was frustrated as heck
