just got a refurb T520. i've installed an SSD in an ultrabay slot and want to reinstall the OS to the SSD. but i'm confused.
first i thought i'd be able to boot to the recovery partition and install from there. is that not possible? best i could find was to create recovery and backup media on a USB drive (a SLOW process), and then to boot from that.
however, the reinstall option after booting from that doesn't give me the option to select the SSD as the target. it just reinstalls to the original HD.
do I have to remove the original HD to get it to install to the SSD?
can I somehow reinstall from the recovery partition instead of the recovery media I made?
thanks from a new TP owner

To the best of my knowledge, you'll have to create the recovery DVDs (or USB) and go from there). I'd definitely suggest that you create the disks, remove the HDD, install the SSD, re-install Windows, and then add the HDD back in. While you're at it, put the SSD in the hard drive caddy and the SSD in the UltraBay. This might end up being a bit faster for you.
