I have a barely 2 months used x60t which has already started giving me problems lately :( . After every minute or so the fan makes kinda horrible very loud noise exactly like "ghoooooooo...." for 2 seconds which then fades away. The noise is very loud and you can hear it even from a distance from the laptop.

Second problem is my laptop makes a noise like "when we drink water" sorry this is the best i can describe how it sounds like but it defintely sounds exactly like drinking water to me and my 18 years old son and we cant figure out where it comes from.

Third problem is when I put my laptop on battery which I only started doing recently by the way, it starts singing!, you can hear all sorts of noises like insects hissing, chirping and crawling from the middle part of the laptop. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my laptop? and is it common for lenovo laptops to fail this soon for which I had to pay $2500 for?

I have already had updated bios and all necessary drivers installed which made no improvement. This is the only computer I have in my possession at this moment and I dont know what to do next. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

It's possible that you have a defective hard drive. I suggest you get a replacement and see if that cures the issue. $2,500 for a X60t? Yikes...what are the specs?

Thanks for your reply. I will talk to the support. I think this laptop is a pure lemon, two months of gentle care was all useless on my part. And laptop prices are just like that in Canada.

Assuming you have now called customer support, what was the outcome?

    Thanks again for your replies.

I called the support in the morning, a guy with a foreign accent picked up the call. I described my problem and he said he is gonna send a box to me and gave me a case number. I asked "what will you fix" he said "we will replace the fan" I said "what about other problems" he said "we will see" and I hope they really mean that. I will update once I get my laptop back. thanks for your replies.

you better tell them about other problems..i sent my laptop twice because they didn't check up on the whole system just the part that i told them is having problem. i told them that the laptop is making noises and they just changed the hard drive, the fan is still making clicking noise :( .. so i have to call and have it 'fix' again.. i'm expecting it to be home today...i only got my laptop for 1 month!

Heck that's very annoying. I haven't even got a box from them yet, will call again in the morning to explain all the problems again all over again! :(
