    no disks come with new systme?

    is it true that no dvd's cd's come with new system?

    I got a Y550 today. Not a single disk in the box....

    Yes, most manufacturers are doing this now(and have been for a while). You will need to make your own. You will need a few blank DVDs or CDs and there should be a program on your machine to make recovery discs. For the thinkpad machines the program it is called the Rescue and Recovery program, not sure what it is for the Y550.

    Oh Yeah. A piece of advice. After you make the discs check them to see if they work. If they don't and you are out of your warranty period, Lenovo will make you pay for a set if you need them.

    Bought a Dell Vostro half a year ago, it did come with a Vista disk...

    I don't need the drivers, they are online. But I really want a win7 disk, so I can do a clean install...

    I am calling them

    Be advised, the disks Lenovo offers are not OEM windows install disks. They are only recovery disks which puts the computer back the way it was when it was shipped (software, drivers, crapware and all)

    Follow these instructions for a clean install of Windows 7 when the OEM doesn't give you the option.
