So i upgraded the memory on my new T61 and followed the video and tutorials available on the lenovo website.

But after I was done, the palm rest seemed elevated on the right side, under the left/down/right arrow keys and the right edge.

I unscrewed the the palm rest off again and placed it back. I couldn't get it to fit without it being elevated on the right side. On the left side, next to the Fn key, the palm rest seems to align perfectly to the keyboard.

So are the T61 palm rests all just slightly elevated on the right or what? Did i do something wrong?

i'm telling you...this whole palm rest design is idiotic..it never fits back in properly...and the cheap plastic hooks never seem to all go in...why couldn't they just stick with having us install ram through the bottom like the old days?

try to put it in back properly..it takes a little work..however, if you broke a hook or something..they can send you a new one via warranty

i sympathize with your plight, i went through the same issue, however, i ended up being able to fit it back on after almost 1 hour of messing with it...very irritating

Did you remove 4 or 5 screws? If you removed 5, then the keyboard may have shifted forward. I would remove all 5 screws and then shove the keyboard forward and then reseat the palmrest.

Yeah, i miss the good ol days of pulling PC100 and only needing to pull one screw out of the bottom of my A21, and the 14.4 modem i had in my satelite before that, ah those were the days before N wireless and Gigabit ethernet.

    BRING BACK 3.1!
