    Hello,
I am planning to buy a T43 soon, but I have still not decided wether to go with an 14" SXGA+ or an 15" SXGA+. I've been trying to find some pics of an 15" model but have been unlucky so far (I am aware that the 15" screen comes with IPS while the 14" not). Could someone tell me a link where I can find such pics, or maybe an owner of an 15" T43 can post a few? Does it look similar to the 15" T42?

I am also concerned about heat dissipation, since I would like to buy a quiet machine. There have been some posts concerning heat related issues with T43s. Is the T43 15" model cooler given its bigger formfactor, or the size difference does not matter much?

    Thanx

If you want a quiet machine, I'd suggest the T42 with the Dothan Pentium M. They run cooler. There should be some some pics in the reviews section if you want to look. Here is a pic of my T42 SXGA.

Starting today, November 6, Office Depot is selling the T43 and Z60t. Their ad shows both models, the 15 inch XGA, Pentium M 740, T43 for $1,549 and the Z60t with WWAN and other goodies for $1,999. According to my initial comparison to Lenovo's website, these prices are comparable if not identical to the prices of the comparably equipped model on the website.

I couldn't wait, as I have never seen a new Thinkpad in person. Unfortunately, the store only had the T43 and not the Z60t yet. I was slightly disappointed in the T43 with the XGA screen. It's reasonably good, but I really wanted to see the FlexView SXGA+. The viewing angle on the XGA screen is limited, and it has a noticeable reduction in image definition and brightness when you go off center. The T43 was side-by-side with a Sony FS740 with the Bright View (or whatever the trademark is ) screen. Even though I think I still favor matte screens, the Sony's screen looks glorious on graphic content and has a wider viewing angle, while the XGA screen on the T43 is only average. On the other hand, there was a distinct lack of reflection on the T43's matte screen, the Sony seemed fairly low in reflectivity for a glare-type screen, and the HPs and Toshibas could double as mirrors.

I can't wait to see the MaxBright screen on the Z60m--the best of both worlds, I hope, a bright screen with matte finish--but I don't think Office Depot intends to sell the Z60m at present. I do hope they widen their selection of the T43 and Z60t, at least.

It will be just like the one that zazonz posted. the resolution doesn't depend on the screen size!

But wouldnt a 14" be more ''squished'' than a 15?
I just realised, i understand what you're saying, how can i compare the 14"and 15"screens?

best thing is to check in store. even if it is on another brand. Just so that you can get an idea of what to expect.

Basicly the difference between sxga+ (or any other resolution) on a 14" and a 15", is that on the 14" you will have more pixels per inch (higher dpi) => smaller text/icons
