I popped off all the keys on my t61 to clean underneath, and most of the keys went back on without any problems, even the other large keys with the small metal bar thingy, like the space key, shift keys, etc. But the enter key and backspace key, although reattached, now rotate back and forth somewhat. I know you have to push down really hard to get it all to click in, and believe me I've tried, but it doesn't work.

I looked at the key up close and saw that the part where it doesn't seem to be connecting looks like it was glued to the plastic part underneath, since there's no other way they could have been connected. How should I go about fixing it, or even regluing it? If pictures would help, I can put some up, although they would probably be blurry because I'm taking them with the computer's built in camera. Thanks for any help!

If the key was glued to the plastic part underneath it, maybe it wasn't meant to come off?(not meant sarcastically). I have never removed the keys myself. Your only option might be to buy a new keyboard.

Why would you want to pop the keys off in the first place?

To clean underneath them. It's commonly done. You take off the keys and set them aside in a way that will allow you to remember where they all went, do your cleaning, and then put them back on. I've done this on other laptops, but have only had this problem with the lenovo.

no, regular people take off the keyboard....shake it a little bit to let the crumbs fall out or even better use compressed air to blow it out and then put the keyboard back in. I didn't even know the keys could come off on the Lenovo keyboards

I didn't know you could do that with laptops . . . I knew you could do it with regular keyboards, though.

The stuff I was looking to clean weren't just loose crumbs that come out when you shake it upside down, I had had a drink spilled on it in my dorm room one night. I needed to get underneath.

But I don't want to get into a debate--I just wanted to make sure it would be safe to use a small amount of glue to put it back together, and if that's probably the best method.

usually keyboards have a support of some type underneath, like a metal hinge that must be pulled up and connected back ex. on the spacebar. but i'm pretty sure if you took off all the keys you knew this.
