Hey all. I have a t60 and I recently took a trip upstate and my laptop was in the truck for a little bit (3 hrs) in I guess what must be very cold weather. Anyway, when i turned on my computer I noticed that my screen is a little bit grainy...when I draw a box on the desktop with my mouse, I see that the pixels vertically are missing in some places.

Anyway, this was about 2 days ago and when i turned on my computer today, it fixed itself....until I plugged in the charger at which point there is a green tint on my entire screen and the pixel problem is back.

Pretty much I am wondering how cold weather will affect LCDs and why it would fix itself and then mess up again when I plug my charger in (the screen auto brightens when I'm plugged in). Does it sound permenant? Also, how long does the warrenty last...i got this computer about 2 years ago. Thanks!

It does sound like it got damaged, given that it's going back and forth with different patterns. And about the warranty, we can't tell because you and only you know what warranty you purchased. If you don't remember specifically getting an extended warranty, then you only have a 1 year warranty.

Also, even if you still had a warranty, I doubt this would get covered unless you had a complete care type of thing. Lenovo will not warranty your machine for abuse or user caused damage. If it was a mechanical failure then yes, but neglicence does not count.

yeah i definitely didnt get extra protection or an extended warranty. Ive restarted my computer and the green tint is gone but now the pixlation is back. Maybe if I restart a few more times, itll fix itself again. thanks
