    possible to upgrade CPU on T25 the retro model?

    did anyone research/do this? - the installed CPU on it is about 1/2 the speed of my 5-year-old dell... what happened to moore's law?

    but otherwise the machine seems pretty good.

    any pointers?

    Since BGA is more commonplace in notebooks now I'd also say no.

    Some people have been toying with the idea to use a T480 motherboard, since the T480 uses basically the same design as the T470, which the ThinkPad 25 is based on. Such a mod would be costly however and its not at all guaranteed that it would work at all.

    As the above posters have pointed out, a CPU upgrade without also changing the motherboard is impossible, due to the CPU being a BGA one.

    yes, the socket on the processor is FCBGA1356 - i guess this is BGA.

    how about getting a maxed-out t480, and changing the keyboard to the one on t25?
