    Screen's out.

I have been connecting to external monitors to even use my thinkpad. alt-f7 toggles me through external, notebook (nothign), and both- OR if I boot with monitor already plugged in, it goes straight to that.

My question is, before I go restoring this thing, when I push the thinkvantage button during startup, will it still continue to send the video to my external monitor?

WOrst case scenario would be it's on external when it starts booting up, I push the thinkvantage button, then sometime b/t that point and restore, it defaults back to the notebooks screen... unless alt-f7 "means" something always, not dependent on operating system having been loaded.

    Thoughts?

Really if I just knew whether the alt-f7 works independent of operating system, I'd know if I could switch it back to external if it defaults back to the notebook's screen during restore.
