    Hi all

I'm thinking on buying a X220 in the US but I'm taking it to Europe. A couple of questions spring to mind...

    - will the power adapter work in Europe (after changing the power cord)

    - whats the difference between the 65W and the 90W adapters (faster recharge times?)

    many thanks,

    rreis

Power adapter will work just fine both in US and in Europe, just change the cord.

    Kyriu,

I live in Italy and I received two days ago a W520 bought in USA, with a 170 W AC adapter.
I changed the cord, using one taken from an old Canon digital camera battery charger sold in Italy.
I'm using it right now to write this message: it works.

Its not reliable, Ive used those myself and they fail at some point if used frequently, its a good thing to have it until you get proper cord, but as permament solution its not reliable+you can lose it quite easily if travelling around!
Moving your laptop while plugged in might cause it to disconnect from AC as well.

This one fits the plug tightly, and is the perfect solution for a two week vacation in Europe.

^^^ I was in France for a month, and the "outlet plug adapter" (as DUTCH suggested) worked transparently with my X210. If you live and work in Europe, perhaps the right power cord is a better solution.

To the OP: If you buy the X220 in the US, the keyboard layout is US English (duh!). This might or might not be an issue with you. In any event, the keyboard may be replaced quite easily.
