LENOVO t61 type 8897cto, win xp, sp 2

i have 2 battery icons in the bottom tools bar showing diffrent levle of battery remaining. the one that i can turn/off from "POWER MANGER" seems to wrong as the alarm does not sound when it reaches the alarm set point.

is there any way make them consistent (calibration?) and why there are 2 icons??

    thanks

Can you show us a screenshot of the double battery bars?

Are you talking about the ThinkPad Power Manager and the Windows System Tray battery bar?

    yes- scrn shot attached

yes, i think one icon is from windows power manger, and the other from lenovo's hardware mgr but now matter which way i navigate (win or thinkvantage), i end up at the one on the left showing lower %age

Don't focus on the life that windows battery tells you. Focus on the Lenovo software.

As ronnieb said, the Power Manager will be more accurate. I would uncheck to always show the Windows one.

You should trust the left window in your screen shot. Uncheck "always show icon on the taskbar" in the right window.
