My laptop Lenovo 3000 N200 has got a strange power problem (I think). The laptop is only 2,5 years and the battery has been replaced already 1 year ago (!).\r\nThe battery was unloading very rapidly and with the powercable connected nothing happened i.e. the system just went down totally.
Several restart attempts failed...and using the toolbox button gave some hope...had to hit it several times until the system came through a restart. removing the battery wasn't a succes either. The system was still down/dead only after a few attempts (again) with hitting the toolbox key the system came up. I have run diagnostics but all is ok.. (do you believe it?). I am reluctant to reinsert the battery...and do not know what to do or better not to do... Anyone any idea what it might be and how to have this fixed....PLSE !!! ???

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Were you using a Lenovo OEM battery?
-
The batteyr I am using is an OEM one.
Today, I managed to keep the thing on power ... I have ( I do not know the right english words for it...I a Dutch you know) just 'played' with the power cord connection to see what happens.
Now, the power stays on and the battery is 100% charged it says (!).
I have unplugged the cable from the laptop to see how long it will last with my battery....
I will send an update later on today or tomorrow.
Point is that I am in Spain until mid June and if the laptop goes down I am lost as well... isn't it worrying?
Thanks for your help !!!! -
Now I am sure that the problem must be either with the power cable itself or with the powerinlet of the laptop itself....
Will need to get a temporary other powercable/charger to try to further eliminate the problem. Suggestions though are still very welcome! -
On my 3000 N100, the cable broke internally where it enters the plug that plugs into the laptop. It all looked fine but the inner wire was broken inside. I cut it all back and resoldered the cable inside the plug and then carefully insulated it all.
It's quite difficult to get a neat job that replaces the moulded plug and is safe.
I used this for a bit, then bought a replacement power unit, which I am now using. The replacement I bought had a shorter cable from the power unit to the computer plug, which is something I'd check if I bought another. If the power unit hangs off the table its weight is supported by the cable. Bad!
I had the same fault years ago on my old Thinkpad and did the same sort of repair. -
hi .... i m also facing some power problems with Lenovo n200 3000.
i bought it back in Sept, 2009. i changed my battery recently. i have also changed my system fan but the problem is still there. it just don't shuts down or it hangs if i try to make it sleep or during restart.then it don't do anything, there is nothing i can do to turn it off only way is to take the battery out to cut down power.
