    Hi guys,

    i am traveling quite a bit with my T500, i need the extra battery life. this place has only DSL(requires a dialer) over ethernet . when i turn off my display manually or automatically, T500 drops the ethernet connection and the redial takes quite a bit of time, but i t will get connected later. when i wake it u from display off mode, it disconnects internet again. this is very frustrating especially in the middle of skype calls.

    i am using vista 64.

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    I'm thinking the laptop is going into sleep as well. Are you hitting the function-display key combo, or the function-sleep combo? (For turning it off manually)

    no i am sure it is not going into sleep mode, the dialer is set to auto dial. it takes a whole 5 minutes to reconnect which is frustrating. i get skype back on with the display off.

    to turn off display

    1. power manager-> turn off display
    2. powermanager->powerplan->timers->display off to 1 minute
