    Hey all,

I have the Thinkpad x60s. I went ahead and got the fingerprint reader and had been using it just fine. However, lately it won't read my fingerprint. Strike that, it will actually read it, come up and say "successful", but then another screen pops up and says: "The requested operation requires fingerprint authentication, but you have no fingerprints enrolled. Please enroll fingerprints and retry the operation".

I do have fingerprints enrolled, and I've already tried deleting and re-enrolling the fingerprints. Anybody have any ideas? This is driving me nuts and I'm tempted to just disable the fingerprint reader, but I paid for the thing to be put on and would like it to work!

    Thanks

I have had the exact same problem since I got my T43 almost 2 years ago. Many calls to IBM result in them always saying they never heard of this problem and I am the only one having it.

Problem happens when I resume from hibernation or the screen saver. Only thing that works is to reboot.

    Have you found a solution?

I have removed and reinstalled all CSS programs.

I even did a total restore to factory state and reinstalled all updates and software.

I continue to experience the problem.

Sometimes, I can go a month without it happening and then it happens.
Sometimes, it happens every time I resume from hibernation or standby.

    It never happens on startup.

I have the same problem here on an x60. It always happens when coming out of sleep or hibernation. Also, my laptop recently started ignoring the charge thresholds as well.

I think you are not only going to have to uninstall the software.

You are goinf to have to fugure out what directory it's in and identity the database and BE Sure it's deleted.

I don't think the problem here is bad software. I think its a corrupted database. Often, software is uninstalled and is careful not to delete the database. In this case, I think it is an absolute necessity that it be deleted.
