I can't play some song in windows media player of windows 7, but with the same song I can play it well in windows media player 10 of windows Xp

I'm using thinkpad t400 laptop, new install to windows 7 build 7068, some song play well in windows media player 10 or media player classic..but with that same song windows media player12(of windows7) play such an error (play too fast, sound is broken..i think it may be concern to bitrate???)

p/s: may be this is a multimedia orror, i can not use "river past audio converter" to convert a wma->mp3... too!

What is the filename extension (i.e. .mp3) of the audio file? Windows Media Player should be able to play .mp3 and .wma by default. Perhaps on XP, you installed some codec pack that allowed you to play another file type such as .flac or .ogg.

Also, you should probably install Windows 7 RC Build 7100. It is more stable.

The file ext is mp3...not all mp3 song is met this error, because some mp3 song play very well. With the error song i can also play very well on windows media player 10 (XP machine). I had installed the lastest version of klite codecs.

Do the build 7127 work well? Because I have windows seven build 7068 and 7127! :)

That mp3 file had that weird garbled sound to it. However, I renamed that .mp3 to .wma and it plays perfectly. Perhaps some of your files have been renamed to an incorrect filename extension. The media player was probably trying to use a mp3 decoder for a .wma file.

I think it's cause is at the first load of this program, the program show this message box (may be ask for load "lame Mp3" and "Wm speech encoder DMO", but ony "lame Mp3" is loaded while "Wm speech encoder DMO" ís not loaded successfully so that I i canceled the Action)
