There's not too much to uninstall with a ThinkPad (thankfully). If it scares you to go taking out stuff, don't worry about it. Don't remove any of the ThinkVantage applications, they're all pretty useful. I would download FireFox as one piece of software they didn't include but you'll want.

Congrats on the purchase, great choice :)

    congrats man!

hey is that warranty international or not? also, is it the included warranty or you just upgraded it?i do not want to have my machine insured as i buy machines by their names and reputation (nope, not sony :) )

i have been cheking lenovo's site every day finding some changes... and i think i do not see what i saw last month...

1.where's the Z61t customize page? i can only see the Z61m in there
2.where's the T60 15" with x1400? does it mean that i am forced to buy the
T60p 15" with more powerful card?
3.where's the R-series coreduo with the x1400 option?
4.never mind the tablet series hehehe
    5. no problems with the x-series

Congratulations on the new Thinkpad, I'm jealous =p

As for browsers, Opera is another choice, the main differences between it and Firefox is that Opera is faster and comes with more initial stuff to play with, that's very useful, it also uses less memory but you're on a Core Duo, so, that doesn't matter much. Opera loads pages incorrectly sometimes, but I like it better for the speed because I hate waiting... Firefox is more customizable, in my experience doesn't load any pages incorrectly, and since more people use it than Opera it'd probably be easier to get help on any problems you may have with it.

I'm in the process of writing a comparison between the two browsers, but regardless, the best way to figure out which is best for you is simply trying them out.

$2145 ?! that's a good value but... how did you did it? i just configured one on their site... and i did not find the coreduo 2.16GHz on the options, only 2GHz is in there... having same specs (except the processor), it got to $2479...

and i still do not see the 15inch T60 x1400 option...
