hey,
it has been over a month since i purchased my laptop from lenovo, and it has been under a month since i took delivery of said item. i just realized a few dyas ago that i did not purchase anything beyond the basic warranty ( 1yr return to depot). i was just wondering if it was possible for me to purchase an additional year or two of warranty from lenovo? or can this only occur while you are building and ordering your laptop?

im not 100% sure on lenovo, but on dell they do allow you to, but its more expensive. I believe my co worker extended his after purchase

You can extend your warranty any time up until the day your warranty expires, but you can't buy accident protection after 30 days.

^^ true story -
Suppose you didn't buy the laptop direct from Lenovo...I bought my X200 from Amazon a couple of months ago. They did not offer an extended warrany. I finally got around to sending an email to Lenovo sales about this last week but never heard anything back...does anyone perchance have a phone number or email address that will get a response?

Thanks for the information

Are Lenovo warranties transferrable? For instance, if I sell my ThinkPad when it's inside of warranty, is it still valid for the buyer? Alternately if I sell it after it's out of warranty, does the buyer have the option of adding a warranty onto it?

Yes, the warranty is tied to the machine and not the owner.
purchasing additional warranty after the fact
