for this site the laptop says that it gets 6-hours for a 6-cell battery, is this true? cause this would make it double as efficient as any of the other t60's. Thanks for the help!

More like three on medium settings.
-
yeah that makes sense but other pages about other models say 3...they need to specify what they are testing the laptop on.
-
It is probably from Lenovo with the screen turned all the way down, WiFi off, etc.
-
probably, but it is just weird that they would do that. That they would change the testing conditions between different computers, and such.
-
problem is, you assume the site is completely correct and they really did do real life tests
well, that's what independent reviews are for, and as Zaz says -- there's no way you'd get 6 hours unless you turn screen all the way down, underclock the processor, turn off wi-fi, unplug all usb devices, turn off the ethernet port, and don't touch a single key. -
Intel claims the new Duo Core processor really improve battery life. I was just reading this Intel page: http://www.intel.com/products/processor/coreduo/dynamicpowercoordination.htm
6 hours is a lofty claim, but it does say "Up to," which opens the door up...claim-wise. -
Manufactures always take the worst case scenarios for battery testing, like wi-fi off, barely using the notebook, brightness all the way done. Very low chance that you will get the battery life that is posted on their website.
