    Hi,

I just got the x60s that I bought off ebay. It's a great laptop, just by looks.

    I have a question.

I saw that flat cable connect the LCD and the main body of the X60s exposed... Is this right? I mean when I close the LCD, I can see the flat cable. I just can't justify this.

The seller didn't tell me there's a password.... I can't enter the system!

Password for the BIOS or Windows? You're pretty much out of luck if it's the former. You'll need to contact the seller.

If it's a BIOS password, then... and the seller never mentioned this to you... could be a stolen laptop?

I called him. He's very nice and gave me the password right away!

Now, I am all good :)

X60s looks smaller than the widescreen 12" that I had before (v100 and d420)

but I feel it's not as sturdy as my d420. push the back of the lcd, you'll definitely see it bending. This isn't the case on d420. also, d420 case was made of some kind of metal, while the x60 is all plastic.

Actually its the complete opposite, tabook.pdf states it is entirely Magnesium Alloy. Maybe its a fake.

I mean the case, not the LCD case...

sometimes I just can't find a word to express myself.

He did restore the machine back to the factory setting. just forgot to remove the power on password.

I wouldn't call him an idiot. He's really nice and knowledgeable.

AFAIK, the case is plastic with magnesium frame; the LCD lid is magnesium. I had a T60 and it did feel rather flimsy, especially compared to a D420.

    I agree.

D420 feels quite solid. I feel I can throw it anywhere without worrying about it.

But the X60s I have... I have to baby it.

    Hi, there

    I've sold my D420.

Interesting video. But I don't think it makes any sense. he speaks more like a salesman.

the daylight test is ridiculous. there's no daylight gap on thinkpad, only because they make the edge of the lcd lid extrude toward the bottom of the machine when it closes. push the lid, you'll see the frame actually has flex.

and the rubber supporter thing. I think thinkpad need it. a lot of thinkpad have their screen scratched by the keyboard.

so I don't think his speech make any sense.
