i am planning on getting an x200. i know i've made other threads before but i think is more suitable in it's own thread. is it possible to get a taiwanese x200 keyboard and just put it on my US x200? if so where would i get it?

yes you can, you will have to source the keyboard from third party.

IBM (in the US) rarely has non-US keyboards in stock. of the roughly dozen Japanese keyboards i've purchased through my contact there (or who used to be there before the call center was moved), nearly all of them had to be special ordered and took anywhere from two weeks to two months to procure. these days it's downright difficult to special order parts from overseas unless you know someone.
it's much easier finding non-US keyboards through other sources. if you can't find it on ebay then i hope you can type well enough in Chinese to make a friend who will help you out. -
alright i think i can get my dad to get one for me since he works in taiwan. i should be able to get one for about 30 bucks

Yes, changing keyboards on a ThinkPad could not be easier. Typically 4 screws and you're done.

Is there a place where I can see the different layouts/ differences between the keyboards of different countries? I am assuming that the ThinkPad keyboards and other keyboards - countrywise - should be the same. Thanks.
question about keyboards of other countries
