i have decided to order from the American lenovo site since it is so much cheaper, i have a few question before i order

    1. with the mobile broadband, i have a few options to go with,

    Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradable
Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Ericsson 3G with GPS) [add $80.00]
Integrated Verizon Mobile Broadband (Gobi 1000 3G with GPS) [add $125.00]
Integrated AT&T Mobile Broadband (Gobi 1000 3G with GPS) [add $125.00]

my question is that since neither AT&T or Verizon is operating in Australia, will other network work on any of these upgrades? (my mobile internet is with 3 network), if 3 will not work on these options, which wwan card should i get?

    2. is ultrabase worth it? if i do not buy the ultrabase, does that mean i wont be able to install microsoft office 7 myself?

    3. which wireless card should i get? wifi, 5100 or 5300?

sorry about taking your time, help and recommendation would be appreciated.

Probably only if you plan to dock it with a big monitor or other peripherals. It should have no effect on Office.

I'm guessing it won't make much of a difference either way.

USA 3G and HSDPA network operate on the same bandwidth as the Telstra NextG bandwidth (850 mhz). 3 network operates on 2100 mhz, 1800 mhz and 900 mhz bandwidth......

If you have a Nokia mobile phone with inbuilt wireless, just download the hotspot app from Three, and use the phone as a wireless hotspot for using the internet. I do this on my N95, E71, N97, etc.

I have the ultrabase without an optical drive and it is very useful for me because I dock and undock everyday.

You can still install office via a usb external optical drive. Or you could rip the iso and just mount it on the machine to install it.

wouldn't it be more convenient if you install a wwan card? so instead of two devices running just have your laptop on
