    Hi everybody!

I'm new to this forum and i just placed an order for my x220i some days ago, then i have some questions and hope that people can make me clear with your help

1/ Does the prefix "220i" show on on right hinges for the i3 version or it just the "x220" only, like others x220 (i5-i7)?
2/ Since i place the x220i lately then the Lenovo does the replacement for their faulty fans (high pitch) in assembly, and the thermal is acceptable?

3/ The model i ordered is coming with 3g Gobi 3000, then the access connection program allows SMS menu to be visible for user to text?

4/ Regarding the LCD panel, as my x220i comes with TN panel , so the LCD bleeding in the corners will have been fixed and not visible to lately x220?

Since this is my first thinkpad laptop and I'm just hoping Lenovo listening to customers feedbacks and offered the good assembly, QA for the x220

    I appreciated for your reading

1/ At least my X201i does have the entire model number "X201i" written on it. So I would guess the same goes for the X220i.

It says X220i to the left of the right hinge.

You might want to try the latest BIOS update. It helped quite with the fan noise.

I don't know anything about Gobi.

Bleed can vary form one panel to the next. Mine has a bit of it, but it's only noticeable when the PC is booting. If you don't mind my asking, why did you not opt for the IPS panel?

Actually i just need the TN panel, IPS will cost more 50$, and power comsume (i guess), i like the matte screen ,we are still OK with the LCD without IPS so far, morever i just use the x220i for it mobility with long battery on the go.

    Thanks

Can somebody tell me the different quality from the TN LCD on x220 vs x100e? Is the X220 without IPS better?

Yes, the IPS is better, but I've not seen the others.

Judging by the video below, the x220 TN panel looks on par with the x100e screen. For $50 more, I would really consider the IPS.

    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p8MO-XaCZ_8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p8MO-XaCZ_8?version=3&amp;hl=en_US&amp;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width='560' height="349" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

the IPS is for sure better than the TN on that video, but my question is how the TN on x220 to compare with the TN on x100e , which one is better, or they are just the same LCD maker but different in size, dimention?

Can some body tell the different please?
