I just purchased a T530 that is coming with a 500GB 7200rpm HDD. I bought a 256 GB Samsung 830 SSD and was looking to install this. The questions I have are:

    1. Is it recommended I have the SSD in the ultrabay and keep the HDD where it is? Or move the HDD to the ultrabay and have the SSD to the standard slot?

    2. Is there a certain adapter that should be used on installing either the HDD or SSD into the ultrabay?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. In terms of electrical interface, it makes no difference. Mechanically, the UltraBay device is relatively easier to be removed. So, if you want your boot drive (in your case, the SSD) to be swapped with another conveniently, put it in the UltraBay. Otherwise, as in most cases, put the SSD in the main bay and move the stock HDD to the UltraBay.

    2. There are various choices, from very expensive (Lenovo) to moderately expensive (NewModeUS) to inexpensive (such as this one). Note that "inexpensive" does not mean "cheap" and/or "low quality."
