can RnR make an image of my system partition (C :) that I can then restore if I were to wipe the C: partition at some stage? I'm wondering if TrueImage is overkill for the occasional images I want to keep as I mess with my computer.

You can make a backup, then restore your system and use the backup to restore it to where it was, but I don't think it's an image. I don't use R & R. I prefer DiscWizard, which a free variant of True Image. You can download it from Seagate's website if you have a Seagate drive. It's why I always get Seagate drives.

Thanks... sounds like RnR is not what I'm looking for. I have Discwizard (which I presume will work with a Seagate drive in the NAS I have) and I also have TrueImage. Just wanted to see if there's a way to make a couple of images (and boot disc) over the years without having to install either of them -- seems like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I think it has to be the boot drive for DiscWizard to work.
