I just want to confirm that one can use a DVD-R to create recovery discs with the Rescue & Recovery system on a T60; apparently, one must use a CDR for the "startup disc" but it seems that the rest of the discs can be burned to DVDR (thus enabling one, I would imagine, to create two R & R discs as opposed to seven [with CDRs]), correct?
The reason I ask is that I believe my burner is defective (DL multi-burner), as every DVD disc I attempt to burn fails at around 75% to completion; this has happened in Nero, WinDVD creator, and also in attempting to create recovery discs; my logic is that, assuming that one *can* use DVDs to make the R & R discs, there *must* be something wrong with my burner if even the ThinkVantage software can't successfully create a DVD compilation......
(Very frustrating, as I received my T60p about a week ago......)

On the X60 the recovery disks do fit on one CD and one DVD. I assume it would be the same for the T60. Perhaps someone else can confirm this.

Yes I can confirm that the T60 R&R fit on one CD and one DVD. I did it about a week ago.

I used two DVDs for my R60 and I have since restored it.

ditto, i didnt know it was 1 cd and 1 dvd, assume it would fit onto 1 dvdr and be bootable.
not tried restoring though. -
thanks for the replies, guys; also, in the interest of perhaps saving someone else from similar frustration, I've realized that my Matshita drive does not like Memorex DVD-R media; I bought some nice Sony DVD-Rs and everything since has been gravy; made the R & R discs-- yes, 1 CDR startup and 1 DVD restore-- without issue;
