    Hi everybody!

I've got an IBM r50e but it just wont turn on. Very old, haven't got a battery, just power adapter. I think that's fine but will run some tests.

Does anybody have an idea how I can find the problem if its inside the casing on the motherboard for instance. I've seen a few auctions for the AC socket (the yellow plug socket for the power), but I don't want to buy it just on a whim. Is there a way to power the laptop by bypassing certain things?

    Any help would be fantastic!

    Thanks! James

use an ohm meter to check if the laptop is getting power and to find out where a loose connection might be.
