umm since the X61s i ordered comes with 1 GB only, I would need a 2Gb ram. However, I have no idea what ram I should get. any suggestion?

What's the current RAM configuration of the laptop, 512mb x 2, or a single stick of 1gb.

    if you have the 512mb x 2 config., then you'll need 1gb x 2 of ddr2 667. if you have have a single 1gb config, then you'll need to buy just one 1gb of ddr2 667.

Getting a 1GB stick costs $10 more. Seems like a good idea.
