    recovery partition doesnot work

    Hi Please help me
    i just bought this Lenovo thinkpad r61i. it has windows XP
    >>and it has c: drive(68.4gb) and one recovery partiton that is of 6gb alomost.
    >few days ago i created one partition with Partition magic that is D: drive(30 GB).
    >but somehow my computer didnt boot then i tried to run the recovery partiton when the coputer boots.. it didnt work.
    >>then i installed windows XP with bootable CD.
    >>now i have windows XP and i've also deleted the D:drive and now it has onle c:drive(68.4gb) and the recovery partion. but recovery partion still doesnot work..

    can anyone tell me wat to do next...

    Acronis Disk Director comes with a boot loader (and there are a number of free alternatives such as LILO or GRUB). My guess is the MBR got a bit confused.

    I would download GRUB and see if you can conjure up your drive. My guess is it's not as bad as it seems.

    you need to fix the master boot record. you can do this from your xp recovery disk, or any xp disk for that matter from recovery console.
