im thinking of buying a refurbished t510. the outlet site says the graphics are:
    NVIDIA® Quadro® NVS 3100M

does that mean it has optimus? is there a way to tell?

There could be a chance that it is the regular nvidia GPU without the optimus technology.

You can't tell unless you can check the bios.

It doesn't answer your question, but I just bought a refurb T510 and I was happy to find out that it did come with optimus. I had previously heard that refurbs didn't have the newer video cards.

In my experience, the sales people just said 'good luck' and didn't seem to know much.
