This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     remapping buttons on trackpad

    Ok, this is a fairly odd inquiry - but would it be even *remotely* possible to remap the functions of the three buttons above the touchpad on the thinkpad t60p? I believe they are part of the trackpoint package, but not sure. I'd like to convert them for use as 'push to talk' buttons for VOIP applications - so even remapping them to mouse buttons 5-7 would be useful. I'd even not be adverse to attempting basic hardware modding...

    Those three buttons above the touchpad *are* the trackpoint's left, scroll and right click 'mouse' buttons.

    yes, I want to map them as OTHER mouse buttons, so that I can use them independently of the mouse.
