    Hello experts,

I seek your guidance. I have an X200 which I set passwords for in the BIOS. The hard drive is set to "user" password only (not Master + User) and I have no troubles unlocking the HD at startup.

But when I pull the hard drive out and slot it into an external USB case, then plug it into another computer, Windows will not even recognize that anything is there. If I use my thinkpad to REMOVE the password completely and slot it into external USB, the other computer recognizes and shows all files within the drive itself.

If I don't have my thinkpad (something fails, not in the house, etc.) how do I go about removing the hard drive password using another computer? How on earth do I access the contents? Just for clarification, I do know the password.

    Thanks for your time.

Asking how to bypass security measures is not allowed here. You'll have to figure it out yourself or get the information elsewhere. If you're still under warranty, I'd suggest calling Lenovo support.
