Every time i try to restart/shutdown my laptop, nothing happens. It takes a couple of times to shut it down. Any suggestions? I have a t61p.

control alt delete and close down most of the processes manually..go one by one closing them and each time try to shutdown again.

eventually you will find there is a program preventing your computer from shutting down.

What operating system are you running? goto msconfig, and uncheck everything you don't need under the startup menu.

In Vista, go to the Control Panel and open System and Maintenance followed by Performance Information and Tools. Generally, things that are impacting sleep/hibernate/shutdown performance will be listed there.

yeah man just go to "msconfig" and un-check everything that you dont need and if you think it is a big problem or you think that ther is a problem with hardware you should just restart the computer and press "thinkvantage" and just do a system diagnose with pc doctor that should if everything
