anyone seen thinkpads in any retail stores?
ive been to bestbuy, but they have none on display. (USA)

i think compusa/tigerdirect stores might have them, as they are on their websites, otherwise... thinkpads arent really seen in retail stores, since they are business laptops
-
I've heard Microcenter has them, but I've never been there myself. Most stores do not carry business laptops, such as Thinkpads, Latitudes, and Elitebooks.

Most Best Buy stores won't have ThinkPads, it's possible that stores with BestBuy for Business would have them http://www.bestbuybusiness.com/bbfb...y?cmd=BBFBStaticContent&id=store_locator.html
I went into a Micro Center recently and they did not Have ThinkPads. J&R in New York has them http://www.jr.com/category/computers/notebooks-and-tablets/n/4294562885/.
Basically it's very slim pickings for finding ThinkPads in retail. -
The Micro Center near me has them, so I guess it's hit or miss. Just go to their website ( http://www.microcenter.com) and choose the store near you and you can search for things in that store.

I saw a T61 in Bestbuy the other day, but it wasn't for sale.

I saw a couple of Thinkpads at a local college bookstore. This really helped make my decision on my 1st Thinkpad purchase. Check the college/university bookstores in your area.

There's a Microcenter in the Boston area that I used to frequent when I was in university. It was the first time I had ever seen a Thinkpad in a retail setting. It was also the first time I had seen an X200 and X300 in person.
It's a shame I haven't been able to find a comparable store in southeast Ontario. Futureshop just doesn't cut it after you've been exposed to a real computer store.
