has anyone attempted putting a 1920x1200 screen on a t520 that has 1920x1080? i am not interested in opening a religious war about which resolution is better; i miss the vertical resolution that was available on the t61 and now have to do a lot more scrolling. i could not find any prior thread that addresses the question about how to do this, if possible.
    thanks in advance.

I don't think that would work, WUXGA is 16:10 and and size dimensions of 15.4" whereas T510 and beyond has moved to 16:9, and 15.6" so it likely will not fit.

Someone on TPF shimmed a UXGA IPS panel into an R500. It wasn't pretty (the shimming, I mean), but it worked.

you could probably put the T520 on a IBM T221... now you would have all the vertical space you could ever dream of.

For one thing the T520 uses LED backlight, and the WUXGA LCD all have CCFL backlight. No one has yet spoke about this mod, so if you don't want to do it, then you are on your own as far as the mod is concerned.

His point was most 15.4" WUXGA were made during when CCFL was predominate. Plus will a RGBLED screen work in a normal LED LVDS cable?

nice to know.... i didn't know that a RGB LED backlight WUXGA existed. I guess the OP could try to retro fit that panel into the Thinkpad with the right cable. Then he would have to source a screen bezel for it.
