if you remove hidden partition, one key recover ( restore & recovery ) may stop working.

In this connection, is it possible to buy the Recovery disks from Lenovo? Do they even sell them? I have a friend who just bought a x201 like me. But unlike me he nuked his HDD before making the recovery disks. His machine - like mine - came with the 32-bit version of Win 7, which he replaced - like I did - with the 64-bit version.

If I have a way to re install windows I completely reformat and delete all the partitions. So yes its safe, unless you want their partition setup.

Yes. Yes. About $40 US. Ask for the 32/64 version you want. BTW, if you and your friend know how to do clean install, why bother?

    (Still adoring your X201? :))

Thanks! Yeah...I am now suffering from sleep deprivation given that I am continually at the machine. I love just handling it and I find myself actively looking for instances where I can take it out of my office/ home to use it!!! I will be having more and more of these excursionary activities in the coming days and I can't wait to see how the x201 performs on the road.

Way off topic, but I had to respond to your question... :D

you can burn recovery discs by using lenovo care ( one key recover )
