There are two versions of the LG IPS screen. One is nicknamed the "SLB1", the other one is called the "SLB2".

The SLB1 is an early production version of the screen. It is 250 NITS bright, has a contrast of 800:1 and suffers from ghosting and backlight bleeding.

The SLB2 is 300 NITS bright, has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and doesn't suffer from any of the symptoms mentioned above.

Now the T410 and T410s have different screen manufacteres like AUO or Samsung for example. Some screens are better, some are worse. They should all be around 300 NITS bright though, if not more.

So if you have the SLB1, everything is fine.

I believe both versions of the IPS screen are rated at 300 nits. If you have the TN panel, it's rated at 200, which is similar to your T410(s).

According to Notebookcheck the SLB1 is 250 NITS bright: Review Lenovo ThinkPad X220 (IPS) Subnotebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews

The TN Panel can actually reach 250 NITS, but only if you have the right combination of BIOS and Intel drivers (from Q3 2011). I remember several people reporting this in the ThinkPad forums back then. (including me)

Otherwise, like ZaZ said, the TN is only reaches 200 NITS.

This is normal. The screens in T410s are very bright, they reach more than 300nits.

According to the specifications, the original panel is 300 nits.

According to specs the TN has a contrast of 300:1. We all know that isn't true (sadly).

The SLB1 offers 250 NITS, the newer SLB2 offers 300 NITS. I'm 100% sure of that. I have the SLB1 and it's definitely NOT 300 NITS bright. More like 250.

Lenovo's stated screen specs often vary from real-life figures garnered from accurate screen measurement tools that NotebookCheck has for its reviews. For example, although my T500's WSXGA+ panel is rated for 200 nits, NC found that at max brightness, most areas of the screen are around 170-180 nits. In this case, it's a relatively small variance, but I wouldn't be surprised to see variance between the two batches of screens in terms of real-life brightness.
