Do you have a SD card in your card reader now? Does it show up in the devices listed in "my computer"?
-

When you go to device manager -> Disk drives, do you see something called similar to "RICOH...."? If so right click it and go to properties. Does it say the device is working properly? What is under the driver tab?
-
no i dont see soemthing called RICOH...
only "IMD-0"
and"ST9160411AS"
... -
I just checked mine. It should be listed under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in your device manager: Ricoh PCIe Memory Stick Host Controller. If its not listed after you re-installed your drivers, maybe hardware is not working. Call Lenovo support on Monday.
-
i see it there..(ricoh memory stick host controller(without the PCIe)..)
but what to do now? -
Right-click on it and check properties. Is it enabled? Does it say it functions properly? Also, you tried one memory card, could it be something wrong with it? Can you try another one just to be sure. Hopefully its not one of those cheap "transcend" brands that everyone is having a problem with

it says working properly...

Another thing to say is, people always confuse the SD card reader with smartcard reader. A smartcard is a credit card sized card, used usually by big corporations as a security measure, and has nothing to do with the SD card or any multimedia card. I hope that helps a little.
