After 2 P52s returns and no decent priced x260/x270, should I look into the A285? I never had anything AMD, so 0 experience. I customized one and it's like $1300 cad before tax. 1080p TOUCH (why?) and max 8gb onboard ram (I want 16gb).

I think they are not worth $1300 CAD. The performance and power efficiency is quite poor, and so really you are paying much more than a x250 ThinkPad for the slightly better build quality of the x280 chassis.

What about an E485? some good user experiences online expect for the battery. $850 CAD before tax. Ryzen processor instead of the Ryzen Pro
