    Hello all,

I am looking to purchase the x1 carbon for someone. However, I have read that the motherboard has a major defect. Has this been addressed by lenovo? If i purchase a new x1 from their site, will it experience these same issues? Does the laptop run hot? Thanks

I hope you did not buy it. My X1 Carbon has been dead for 12 days. The part (motherboard) is backordered and not expected in for another 4 weeks. Lenovo customer service is no help. I am trying (unsuccessfully) to get a refund.

oh no, we have not ordered it yet.

so there are motherboard problems? i assume if they're back ordered this is a common occurrence?

The X1 Carbon 4th Gen might be announced at CES 2016.
