Does anyone have any idea why I might be getting very slow read/write speeds through a T440p USB 3.0 port? All my drivers appear up to date, but a new Sandisk Extreme flash drive I just bought is showing only 40MB/s read and 33MB/s write in CrystalDiskMark (with AV and firewall disabled). I checked after noticing it and a USB 3.0 external drive were slower than expected. The flash drive should be getting well over 100MB/s read and close to that in write speed. I did a full FAT32 format of the drive beforehand (not a quick format) and am not using any encryption at all.

OK, fixed it... I didn't realize there was a new BIOS update (Jan 24th). Installed that and the USB 3.0 ports now give me read/write of 200/100MB/s on the Sandisk flash drive.

I also installed it. Have you noticed anything else? I am having issues where USB 3.0 devices (external hdd) will not get detected after reboot. I wonder if this will be fixed as well.

Strange it also mentions that it enables "hybrid graphics" ... were they not enabled before?

I've not noticed anything else that the new BIOS fixed (or broke) so far except my USB3.0 speed problem. But I was also puzzled by the Nvidia hybrid graphics "fix". Mine seemed to be working fine before updating, although I did occasionally get the black screen of nothing when restarting the machine and I suspected the Nvidia drivers might be to blame for that.

Well I've found a few new issues that I did not experience with bios 1.18
-After system wakes from sleep, sound does not work; need to reboot
-USB 3.0 external HDD (previous internal 500GB now in enclosure) actually gets detected upon reboot, HOWEVER it connects/disconnects/connects/disconnects over and over...
    -3DMark 11 doesn't recognize my graphics card
-And about 20 new errors in event log, ranging from Input device errors to storage device errors

    awesome

Not good. Did you try re-installing all the relevant drivers (sound, graphics etc.?). The only one I re-installed was the Nvidia driver because the Bios update recommended it. I haven't tried another USB3.0 external drive yet

Hey there. Yes I too re-installed the Nvidia drivers, but wouldn't expect to need to update chipset, audio, etc.
I did find, however, that when experiencing the audio failing, it's actually when I put the laptop to sleep while the audio device is being used (i.e. playing music) - upon waking the sound is gone and cannot be revived until reboot. So far putting it to sleep with no sound active avoids this issue. Not a huge deal, but this was previously not present. I like waking my computer up, and bam music. Still to figure out the external hdd issue..
