This is one thing I've always noticed about Vista, since the first time I used it. Right clicking on the desktop always took a few seconds. I would get a busy symbol for about a 1.5 seconds.

I clean installed Vista on my T61 yesterday to notice that the right clicking was almost instant, and it felt good.

However, as I installed drivers, it came back. I think it actually started up again after installing the x3100 driver. Is it because the X3100 driver adds two new things to the right click menu? (graphic properties and options) I personally find it unacceptable for a fresh installation on a 2.0 ghz computer to have little things like this.

I know it's not a big deal, but I wonder if it bothers anyone else.

i just did a clean install yesterday on both my desktop and brand new T61 .

Vista is just a really slow OS i think. I've been annoyed by the slow menu times for a while now, but i guess its just out of our hands.

I have to say, it has been getting better since february when vista first came out, with each reinstall i do (about 4 times), but i doubt it will ever disappear. maybe SP1 or SP2....
