I recently have noticed that my clock in windows on my x201 will be slower then the actual time by about 2 minutes. does this indicate a dieing cmos battery? i thought that the clock in windows checks itself over the internet periodically though. is this something easy to change on a laptop? i know how to do it on a desktop but not sure about a laptop.

    Thanks

A while back I had my X201 set to UTC via a registry key. After that my clock was about 6 minutes late all the time. I have set it back to "normal" and the time offset has disappeared again.

sorry i am not sure what you mean by utc but i have not messed with the registry. this could be fixed by syncing the clock with the internet but after awhile it slows down again

What are you comparing the clock to?

Are you manually syncing the clock with the Internet?

i'm comparing it to my phone and sometimes the internet time. i manually sync the clock with the internet when i see that it is off.
