daughter needs a new laptop, and she loves my x220. Can't blame her, because I love it too, but it has served it purpose for me (just returned from deployment)

so I'll probably be giving up my x220 to her, and getting a new laptop. Basically, here's my ideal "scenario", so please help me get as close to possible (if possible at all)

    1. take an x220 w/IPS
    2. make it 13.3/14.1"
    3. give it a backlit keyboard
    4. Give it > 1366x768 (I suppose 14x or 16x would be fine)
    5. Give it USB 3.0
    6. Make sure it still has great battery life

Does such a laptop on this planet exist? If not, how close can I get, and what do I have to give up? I'd much prefer the build quality of the Lenovo, and I require a lightweight laptop with good battery life.

The Samsung Series 9 is another option. Plus, it's HD+, which means you'll actually be able to read it. John, one of the moderators here, did a nice write up in the reviews section if you want to have a look.

how about waiting for the x1c?
You'll miss out on the IPS but in return, you get more pixels and a bigger screen.

Consider the Dell XPS 14 that will be released by the end of June. Although its screen is TN, it's 1600x900 and supposed of high quality.

    Just saw this
deal breaker for me. But what a slick machine--want this in the Lenovo Thinkpad brand, then we are talking business.
