    1. I'm kinda confused on this msata drive...does the y470 auto come with the ssd drive? I'm trying to figure out a way to configure it but i cant see where you can do it

    2. also, im kinda confused and maybe im mising something. why is the 085526U cheaper than the 085524U even though it is way clear that the specs are way better? Is that some kind of mistake or am I misreading something?

    3. I heard there is some audio issue with there being static on headphones...is this a problem for everyone or just a few? Is there ever going to be a way to fix it if I buy it?

    4. how is the screen?

    5. in another thread someone said "Get your warranty (if you plan to get one) through square trade. Its cheaper if you use the 20% coupon. Google for it." how do i do this?

    1.- No, due to supply issues with mSATA drives as a whole, it's not available as a customizable option: you'll have to add it aftermarket.

    2.- Lenovo's pricings are not always well-aligned with one another. Some "TopSeller" configurations with a better overall package sell for less than a similar model with generally inferior specs.

    4.- Average for a consumer 14" notebook with a 1366x768 notebook. Not even close to stunning, although not absolutely dreadful either.

    5.- Personally I wouldn't necessarily suggest a ST warranty, although frankly, I may be biased as I'm not a big believer in extended warranties in the first place.

    2. I guess they want to persuade some buyers to go for the i7. You've misread nothing.

    3. There is a fix if you encounter this problem. I think you have to reinstall the sound driver or something, you can look into it.

    4. Screen is alright, not the best. It's certainly not the worst.

    I've looked into it for atleast two weeks and i've yet to find a compatiable solution. Can you link me to the thread/post you saw that seemed to contain an answer? Perhaps I overlooked it.

    @OP

    It seems like all your other questions have been answered, so i'll go for the warranty one (you did quote me, after all). I suggested going through square trade because its the largest warranty provider for Amazon.com. It's very trusted, has fast turnaround times, and have been given rave reviews. See Amazon.com: SquareTrade 3-Year Computer Warranty Plus Accident Protection (Computer $900-1000): Electronics for reviews.

    The warranty covers everything the lenovo warranty covers. However, it does not provide call in service or 'shop' service. You have to send your unit to them for repairs or replacement. This wasn't a big deal to me, as I was trying to avoid having to communicate with lenovo at all. If they wouldn't help me out much when i was trying to purchase from them, I doubted they'd be helpful when I wanted to repair the thing.

    Regarding the price, just go to retailmenot and search for square trade and the coupon should come up. Whether or not you should have an extended warranty for your laptop is an entirely different debate.

    I'm looking now, but I think you have to reinstall the realtek sound driver. I'll keep you posted.

    EDIT: Can't find it. Looks like it was my imagination.
