    Hello everyone,

I bought and received a Lenovo Y470 last week with the intention of using it for work and gaming while away from my desktop.

I have one issue - other than tracking down a reasonably priced mSATA card - and has me stumped. In order to access my work email, webspace, and collaborative space, I need to input a login and password on this page.

When I use my work desktop, my home desktop, or my wife's notebook, I have no problems. When I try the same procedure with the brand new Y470 it just sends me back to login again and again and again.

I've tried using both IE 32-bit and 64-bit as well as Chrome, and they all have the same issue. All I can think of is that there is an issue with the firewall. I uninstalled the McAfee software that came with it and replaced it with Norton 2012. Then I updated firmware and OS. I even spent time comparing all the settings in IE on my home desktop and Y470, just to see if I had one box checked on one machine and not the other. Running as an administrator doesn't work either.

I'm at a loss, and the tech department at work don't provide support for personal devices. If anyone has encountered a similar issue, or knows of a possible workaround (short of re-installing the OS) I'd love to hear from you.

    Thanks for your time.

I tried Firefox, like Fletchman1313 suggested, however, it's not working either.

I reset my OS to the factory default to see if I managed to screw something up in the week I've had the machine, but that didn't help.

Since finding out that I couldn't login to my work's portal, I've also found that I'm having the same issue trying to access my cell phone account through a web portal that requires a login and password.

If anyone has had issues involving their login/password being ignored or not submitted, please let me know.

It's gotta be some kind of firewall issue. Probably something that blocks cookies.

Is there any way of disabling Norton temporarily to see if that makes a difference?

I'll second Fletchman's opinion. Gotta be the firewall. Have you checked the Windows Firewall settings? Many users forget they have 2 firewalls, one in Windows, and one they installed after market. You can disable the Windows Firewall, and then concentrate on the Norton Firewall to isolate the problem.

Are you using another computer to sign on to this forum? Do you have the SSL 3.0, AND TLS 1.0 protocol checked in your browser?

I have a Y470, and I've never experienced this problem. I do everything on line, and have never been thrown back to the sign on screen, after I entered my credentials. It seems like your credentials are never getting through to their server, otherwise you would be sent an exception error (bad password and the like).
