Nice deal for anybody who doesn't have the patience to wait for a T61 but finds the T60 to fit their needs I'm assuming this is the Lenovo.com site right?

 

It works but the t60's still come out to a few hunder more even with this discount.

 

It always comes back to that. Seems nobody can post anything here anymore with someone coming back with "Who cares about 'xyz' they can't even get the T61 out on time."

I truly do sympathize with those waiting for their laptop, but some people want to talk about other things too.

I thought people were getting there T61s except for the people that ordered during the big mixup. I don't know why you don't all cancel your orders and just re-order. So what if some of you saved a few bucks on the Meyer deal. It's not worth it if it's never gonna get here!

Kinda new to laptops here, what does the T61 have that the T60 doesn't have besides Santa Rosa?

 

Hey mods, I think you guys should really expand the FAQ. It might save some people from answering the same questions week on week.

For instance you could post answers to common questions like:

"What's the difference between the T61p andT61?"

"Can I use 800MHz RAM with Santa Rosa?"

"What's the difference between the T60 and T61? Is it worth it?"

"Are they still going to have the IBM logo on the new laptops?"

"What is causing my order to be delayed?"

"Does the Meyer EPP deal work?"

"Why does my shipping date show August?!"

And there may be a few more that I can't think of right now. I've seen those questions asked several times in the last few weeks and I think they deserve to go into the FAQ.

 

How do you do a clean install?

Can I put 4GB RAM in my notebook?

What RAM can I put in my laptop?

Bottom line, people don't use the search tool.
