Today when I had opened up my t61, i heard a weird and unsettling click. So upon inspection, I noticed that like. Ok, so with the thinkpad you have the 2 metal plated that are the hinges or whatever. However, the right hinge of my thinkpad isn't turning, so its sort of applying pressure to the front plate of it, kind of almost popping it off. I suppose the purpose of this thread is to sort of vent, and ask if anyone has ever had this problem/has any solutions, or if anyone had a guide to taking apart a t61 so i can get to the hingesand screen to try to fix it or something.

So, after taking it apart i found that the right silver hinge had not just locked up like i could see from the outside, but what it is supposed to be screwed into on the inside of the bezel snapped off. the metal snapped off inside my thinkpad. awesome. So i removed that hinge, and am now going to see if i have any extended warranty on my thinkpad to see if i can send it in, now that it can finally be closed/shipped.
surprise surpise i'm getting another problem with my t61
